Port Edward Lighthouse

Port Edward Lighthouse Virtual Tour by 360 South Africa

The North Sand Bluff Lighthouse is a 24 metre tall lighthouse in the town of Port Edward, the southernmost town along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline.

The Port Edward Lighthouse was originally built in 1968, and had to be rebuilt in 1999. It is still operational and its beam is visible from 40km away.

The lighthouse is open to visitors from Monday to Saturday, as is a coffee shop on the property which serves delicious drinks, snacks and small meals.

Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse up 5 storeys of spiral stairs and climb through a small hatch in the roof to enjoy unparalleled views over the ocean and surrounding landscape (except on windy days, when the hatch is closed to ensure the safety of visitors).
